Kenneth Howard, age 75, of Keavy, KY, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at his home.
Born in Keavy, he was the son of the late William Earl Howard and Ninnia Miracle Howard.
Kenneth was an extraordinary man, a loving father, a doting grandfather, and a cherished friend. His love for his family, especially his son and grandson, defined his life. He was a witty soul who brought laughter to any room he entered. His ambitious nature led him to serve his nation with bravery and honor as a veteran of the United States Army, completing two tours from 1968-1974 in the Vietnam War.
Kenneth was a generous man, never hesitating to share the fruits of his labor with those around him. His garden, a testament to his hard work and patience, was a source of joy not just for him, but for all who had the privilege of tasting its bounty. He was an avid outdoorsman and conservationist, deeply in love with the land he had called home all his life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Adams; and brothers, Larry and Bryan Howard.
He is survived by his son, Brandon Howard, and wife Brittany; grandson, Hunter Howard; the mother of his son and his life companion, Linda Howard; siblings, Lenora McQueen and husband A.J. of Norwood, OH, Dorothy Burke of Keavy, Janice Radar of Florence, KY, Jack Howard and wife Freda of Keavy, Kathryn Young and husband Gary of LaVergne, TN, Beverly Faulkner and husband W.C. of Corbin, Bruce Howard and wife Barb of Keavy, Wesley Howard of Keavy, Earlene Goins of Crittenden, KY, and Holly Adams and husband David of Richmond, KY; special cousins, Donald, Darrell and Dennis Helton; his three-legged cat, Tom; and by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 2-3 pm on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where his memorial service will follow at 3pm with Bro. Tim Dyke officiating.
A graveside service will be scheduled in the Spring of 2025 at Howard Family Cemetery in Keavy, with military honors by the American Legion Post #88 Honor Guard.
