Kenneth Ronald "Ron" Jividen, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on October 2, 2025, at the VA Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on January 14, 1948, in Cincinnati, Ron was a proud graduate of Gallatin County High School and an esteemed veteran who served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Joining in September of 1966, Ron was a decorated hero who displayed remarkable courage and skill as a marksman during his service in Vietnam. His dedication to his country earned him numerous accolades, including The Purple Heart, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Presidential Unit Citation, and the National Defense Service Medal.

For 15 years, Ron worked diligently as a pneumatic tool repairman for Signode before transitioning to Duke Energy, where he continued to serve as a maintenance man for 19 years until his retirement. His commitment to his profession was only paralleled by his dedication to teaching and coaching the next generation. He earned his nickname "Grandpa Ron" by working with the young men and women of The Dixie Heights High School Marching Band, where he instructed and instilled in them the importance of excellence and high standards in their pursuits. He was adored and cherished by the people whom he helped guide.

Throughout his life, Ron had a deep-seated love for nature and the outdoors, evident in his passions for fishing, hunting, boating, camping, and playing and umpiring softball. He was also an avid basketball player. He was a devout member of Main Street Baptist Church. Ron shared a wonderful marriage with his wife Alvena Faye, one that stood the test of time, as they shared 54 years together. Their romance began in elementary school, blossoming into a beautiful partnership that saw them exploring the world together—traveling to significant sites including Normandy, France, New York, and the scenic Great Smoky Mountains on multiple occasions.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Alvena; his son, Joe Jividen, and his wife, Michelle; his cherished grandson, Brandon Hildebrant; and one brother. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Jividen and Doris Thompson and one brother.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on October 13, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Alliance Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Florence, Kentucky. A funeral service will be held the following day, October 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM, also at Alliance Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Ron will be laid to rest at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, with a burial service scheduled for 1:00 PM that same day.

Ron Jividen will be remembered as a man of integrity, a dedicated family man, and a mentor who left an indelible mark on all those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of love, service, and kindness will forever resonate in the hearts of many.
