Kenneth Edward Kane died May 4, 2025, at Riverview Village in Clarksville Indiana surrounded by his family. Ed was born June 4, 1951 in Pinson Fork, Kentucky. He was the son of the late John and Maysie Kane and was the youngest of five children.
He was a decorated Vietnam Veteran receiving the bronze star for bravery. He worked at Ford Louisville Assembly Plant for 30+ years, and at the Clark County Auction after he retired from Ford. He served as a deacon, music leader, and Sunday school teacher at Parkwood Southern Baptist for decades, and he also sang in a local Southern Gospel Quartet. Ed loved old cars, playing guitar, the University of Kentucky Wildcats, and spending time with his family and his dog Daisy. He didn't know a stranger and was always
willing to help anyone who needed it.
Ed met the love of his life, Sue Vargo, when he was just 13 years old. He was playing basketball for his school team, and Sue was a cheerleader on the sidelines-for the opposing team. But the moment he saw her, something clicked. Even at that young age, Ed knew deep in his heart that he would marry her someday. And he was right. On December 20, 1969, Ed and Sue began their lifelong journey together as husband and wife, turning a childhood spark into a beautiful, enduring love story.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father; his sisters, Margaret Akers and Ginger Riggs; and his oldest brother, James Kane. He is survived by his wife, Sue Kane; Brother, John (Patty) Kane; Son, Shawn (Holly) Kane; Daughter, Heather Kane; Grandchildren, Alex (Alexis) Knerr, Madison Kane, Allison Kane, Jacob Richie, Josiah Richie, Harper Hart, Hayden Combs, Jacob Combs; and his great grandchildren, Aisley and Alina Knerr.
