Kenneth Kitzmiller Obituary Kenneth Lee Kitzmiller, age 82 of Shelby, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital.
Kenneth was born on February 27, 1942 to the late Delno Craig and Harriette (Van Wagoner) Kitzmiller in Shelby, Ohio. On March 26, 1966, he married Jeanne Waite.
A 1961 graduate of Galion High School, Kenneth was a self taught meat cutter, starting his trade at the Perry's grocery store in Galion. He worked in various stores over the years, including Amato's IGA and Great Scott before becoming part owner and operator of Miller's Meats from 1990-2006. After retiring from Miller Meats, he worked at Home Depot.
Kenneth enjoyed woodworking and used his talent to make numerous custom pieces. He had a gift of being able to make anything out of nothing and one Christmas, he had surprised his mother-in-law with oak kitchen cabinets. After teaching himself how to be an electrician, he re-wired his son Kevin's house. He was an avid Ohio Sports fan and looked forward to watching The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians and Browns. Even though being a Browns fan could be more of a struggle than enjoyable. He will truly be missed by family and friends.
Those who will cherish his memories include his wife of 58 years, Jeanne (Waite) Kitzmiller of Shelby; his son, Kevin Lee (Trudi Jones) Kitzmiller of Shelby; and his step-grandchildren: Justin (Marlis Belkosky) Jones of Canada and Brandon Martinez of Galion.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Aaron Lyn Kitzmiller in 2018 and his twin sister, Kathie Knapp.
Friends and family may come to honor Kenneth's life from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Ohio Health Hospice, 50 Industrial Drive, Lexington, Ohio 44904.
The Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to be serving the Kitzmiller family.
