Kenneth Anthony Kohl, age77, of Erie, passed away at his residence, Friday, December 30, 2022.
He was born on January 4, 1945 in Hamburg, NY, a son of the late Bruno and Irmgard T. (Reidl) Kohl.
He was a 1962 graduate of Frontier Valley High School and earned Bachelor's Degrees in Accounting and Psychology from Missouri Valley College. Kenneth was a proud member of the US Army, having served 22 years in active duty, including 8 years in a M.A.S.H. unit as an L.P.N. He then continued with service in the U.S. Army Reserve as a recruiter for 16 years. During his career with Army Reserve recruiting, Kenneth earned the rank of SFC. He was also awarded numerous local, state and national commendations and medals for his dedication and excellence in career performance. He worked many professions in his life, including accounting, medical and recruitment.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard J. and Randolf Kohl, his first wife, Patricia Ann (Lyboldt) Kohl and his sister, Liz (Kohl) Rogers, of Fredericksburg, VA.
Kenneth is survived by his second wife Elizabeth Ann (Plandowski) Kohl, and his children; Andrew K. Kohl, Laura E. (Jason) Terry, and grandchildren William and Grace Kohl, and Michael Terry all of Erie.
Services will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 11 a.m. Burial with full military honors will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services, Inc. Downtown, 602 W. 10th St., Erie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in c/o the funeral home.
