Kenneth Ray Largent, 85, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on September 25, 2025, at Saint Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Kenneth was born December 10, 1939 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Violet Leora and Alva Lee Largent.

Kenneth was a loving father, husband, brother and PawlPawl.

Kenneth grew up in Lindsay and Chickasha, Oklahoma. He attended school there. His family were also share croppers, picking cotton for different farmers in the area. Even as a child, with Kenneth's large hands, he could fill a bag before any of the others. His unmatched work ethic was part of his character at an early age.

He left and moved to the Oklahoma City area to find better job opportunities in the mid 1950's.

It was here he met the love of his life, Jean. Ken and Jean married on Nov. 13, 1957. They were 16 and 18 years old. The young couple welcomed their first child, a son, Douglas Ray in 1959 and their second child, their daughter, Shawna Renae in 1967. They were Jean and Kenneth's pride and joy.

Kenneth worked at Rounds and Porter Lumber Company for 22 years. He was also a professional lawn mower, doing what he absolutely loved for the last 45 years. He and his brother Junior shared their love of mowing and how relaxing it was to them. Kenneth mowed for many customers over the years who all thought the world of him. He remained active his whole life, mowing his 5 acres and maintaining an approximate one acre garden up until his passing. He always willingly shared the vegetables he grew.

Kenneth was the middle child of 9. He never needed or wanted to be the center of attention. Although they were a rowdy bunch (putting it mildly), Kenneth was mellow and the slowest of the 9 to anger. However, once you finally got him mad, you would wish you had not! He was the first to offer help when any of his siblings were in need. They would each have told you that he was the hardest working person they knew.

Ken loved a good television show or movie. Junior loved to tease him about watching THE VOICE. He enjoyed Friday night dinners at the Golden Corral or "The Corral" as he called it. There were not many people that could out eat Kenneth Largent. Tall and thin, no one was ever sure where all those calories went!

Kenneth enjoyed time with his family and especially the Christmas and 4th of July parties his daughter would host. He was a humble man, but would never pass up an opportunity to brag on Shawna or his grandkids.

Kenneth accepted Christ as his savior in 1967 at a revival at Soldier Creek Baptist Church. He relied on the Lord through some incredibly difficult times. Kenneth, Doug and Shawna lost their beloved wife and mother, Jean, in July of 1976. Kenneth and Shawna then lost their beloved son and brother in April, 2005. Because of their relationship with Christ, they are reunited in Heaven this day.

Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Shawna Miller, grandson, Dylan Miller, granddaughter, and grandson, Tiffany and Brady Cantrell, great granddaughter, Adelyn Cantrell, great grandson, Ethan Cantrell, brother, Alva " Junior" Largent, niece and nephew Raelynn and Mark Argo, niece and nephew Christi and Brennan Bradshaw, great nephew and niece Cole and Katlin Argo, great nephew and niece, Bo and Kenzi Bradshaw, great niece and nephew London and Alek Rushing, great niece, Libby Bradshaw and nephew Deward Hughes.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Alva Lee Largent, mother, Violet Leora Smith, his adored wife, Gladys "Jean" Largent, son, Douglas Largent, brothers - Glen Dee, Fussie "Lee", and Troy, and sisters Doretha, Pat, Pauline and Peachy.

Services will be rendered by Barnes Friederich & Pope Funeral Home, 1820 S Douglas Blvd, Midwest City, OK 73130. A visitation will be held Monday, September 29, 2025, from 8:00am - 8:00pm.
