Kenneth Lathem, a man known for his loving nature, kind heart, and infectious sense of humor, passed away peacefully at his residence in Ball Ground, GA, on September 12, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on May 27, 1944, in Canton, GA, Kenneth was a beacon of joy to everyone he encountered.
After dedicating 32 years to Ford Motor Company, Kenneth retired and filled his days with the simple pleasures of life. He could often be found meticulously tending to his yard. An enthusiast of classic cars, he spent countless hours admiring these timeless treasures.
Kenneth was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Above all, Kenneth loved his family, a love that they will carry in their hearts forever.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Johnnie Sue Lathem; parents, Turner and Imogene Lathem; and brother, Larry Lathem.
Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Angie Thompson; son, David Lathem (Julie); grandchildren, Jordan Thompson (Ashley), Trey Dye, Bradley Dye and Carter Coryell; great-grandchildren, Reese Thompson, Sophia Thompson and Mackenzie Thompson; siblings, Janice Whitfield (Bob), Jerry Lathem, Ricky Lathem (Heidi), Rhonda Lathem and Linda Medley; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Grant Wade, Rev. Moss Fountain and Rev. Don Cagle officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 13th from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
