Kenneth Lytle Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 11, 2023.
Kenneth R. Lytle was born December 9, 1933 in S. Connellsville, PA to the late Kenneth R. Lytle Sr. and Evelyn G. (Leasure) Lytle. The family moved to Lancaster, when Kenny was 5 years old, in 1938. He graduated from Lancaster High School on Mulberry St. in 1951. He started working at Anchor Hocking Plant 35 immediately upon graduation, then spent 44 years working at Plant 1 as a Mold Maker.
In his early years, Ken served in the US Army, played softball on different teams, hunted rabbits, and spent time on Buckeye Lake hunting ducks. Ken and the love of his life, Robbye, made yearly family trips to Florida to visit her family. He valued family above all else and worked hard to provide a good life for his children. By example, Ken taught his children and grandchildren the importance of generosity, of valuing and caring for one another, and planning ahead for the future. He was a regular spectator at his grandsons' football and baseball games and valued any opportunity to spend time with them. One of his favorite activities was collecting coins and going to flea markets to find good deals. He made many connections buying, trading, and selling coins, as well as, dabbling in the stock market.
Ken was preceded in death by his loving wife, Robbye R. (McNeil) Lytle of 67 years, his brother Charles E. Lytle, and grandson Ryan L. Lytle. Ken leaves behind his children: Kathryn (Paul) Dober, Vickie (Ken) Bender, William (Tammy) Lytle; grandsons: Justin Bender, Corey Bender, Chris (Tarah) Lytle, and Thaddeus Bender; along with 9 great grandchildren and 2 nieces.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 1PM at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Mark Barbee officiating. Burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5PM-7PM, as well as ONE HOUR PRIOR to the services on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., 282 Sells Rd, Lancaster, OH 43130. This agency cared for his loving wife for three years and for him in his final days.

The first memory of Mr. Lytle is one of the love he had for his wife and the tender care he showed her every day.
