Kenneth Lee Pickens passed away surrounded in love on June 17th, 2024 in his
Lilburn, Georgia home with his beloved daughter and life-long partner by his side. He was only 65 years old, born on October 20th, 1958 and known by his close family and friends as "Pick".
He was a loving father, partner, grandfather, son, brother, and friend and touched so many lives. He was a person of unconditional and devout love and was never shy to show how deeply he cared. He never met a stranger. He was a deeply spiritual man and prayed nightly for those on "his list." He was dependable and steadfast through the highs and lows in the lives of those he cared for and loved. He is survived by his daughter (Jennifer Pickens), grandson (Ivan Polach), partner (Cristie Rhodes), pup (Obi), brother (Jeffery Pickens), and countless friends. He will be greatly missed and eternally in our hearts.
He was always up for a challenge with fierce determination and ambition, working till he achieved his goal. This did not only apply to work but anything he set his mind to. There was no stopping him once he put his mind to it and knew all there was to know to the end. He could fix anything. He worked most of his career as an HVAC Senior Technician and Electrician helping keep people warm in the winter and cool in the summer. He lived his life through acts of service and you could always count on him for help.
Ken was never idle and enjoyed staying busy with gardening, cooking out, woodworking, collecting rocks, drinking coffee, reading, and fishing to name a few. He loved animals and plants and was never without dogs or an abundance of plants. He saved, adopted, and raised many pups and plants during his lifetime. He was an avid rock collector and coffee drinker and collected rocks from every place he traveled and enjoyed coffee at 4 o'clock every afternoon. He loved listening to music loud while cooking out and spent his last moments surrounded with the music he loved. Please take a moment in his honor to listen to a couple of his favorite artists Bob Marley and CCR.
He will be greatly missed and eternally carried in our hearts. To honor Ken in the days ahead, please take a moment to offer help for those in need, lend a helping hand, check in on your people, adopt an animal in need, get outside, tend to your plants, have a 4'clock coffee, listen to your favorite song loud, cook for your family, hug your loved ones, and always love full-heartedly.
A celebration of life will be planned for this summer and details will be provided in the weeks to come.
