Kenneth V. Ross, 90, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Saturday, April 5, 2025, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. James Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the sanctuary on Tuesday.
Mr. Ross was born April 14, 1934, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Walter Eugene and Mary Ethel Tucker Ross. He attended Ocilla High School. Mr. Ross worked with his father and brothers at W.E. Ross & Sons in the construction business for many years. He also farmed and was co-owner of Ocilla Gin. He enjoyed fishing, especially on Lake George. Mr. Ross liked to cook on Friday nights for church gatherings. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and the Men's Sunday school class. He will be greatly missed by his canine companion, Jo Jo.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Harrison Ross of Irwin County; children: Allen Ross & Donna of Broxton, Vickie Ross Whitley of Ocilla, Lynn Ross Gillis of Ocilla and Darrell Ross & Bobbie of Ocilla; grandchildren: Scott Carver & Krystal, Suzanne Ross Jordan & John, Stephanie Ross Crenshaw & Clay, Laura Ross Ray & Brian, Lindsey Ross Todd & Ryan, Jeffery Ross, Carie Lynn Fussell & Ryan, and Tanner Ross; 13 great-grandchildren; several step-grands and great-grands; and a sister, Willann Brunson of Albany. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Floreece Denney Ross; two brothers: Vance Ross and Sidney Ross.
The family suggests those desiring to send memorials may send them to Bethlehem Baptist Church, Senior Citizens Ministry, P O Box 27, Ocilla, GA 31774.
Paulk Funeral Home, Ocilla, is in charge of arrangements.
