Sylvia Salois Obituary

Sylvia F. Salois 1920 - 2009 HOLYOKE - Mrs. Sylvia F. (Durant) Salois, 89, passed away at Sunbridge of Hadley on Sunday, March 15, 2009. She was born in Holyoke on February 3, 1920, the daughter of the late Arthur and Anna (Savard) Durant. She attended local schools and was a lifelong Holyoke resident. She was a former member of the Falcetti Towers Association. She was the wife of the late Ernest Salois who died in 1990. She is survived by her son, Allan and his wife Linda of Chicopee, two daughters, Christine Guyotte and her husband Kenneth of Chicopee, and Sandra Hill of California. She will be sadly missed by eleven grandchildren, Michelle Hill, Gregory Hill, Harry Hill, Jr., Tanya Laporte, Elizabeth Roberts, Michelle Guyotte, Michael Guyotte, Matthew Guyotte, Shari Guyotte, Terri Turner, and Traci Cadieux and nineteen great grandchildren. The funeral procession will form at 9:30am on Wednesday, March 18 at the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St. (Route 5) Holyoke. A funeral home service will begin at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery in Springfield. Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday, (today) March 17 from 2 - 4 and 6 8pm. Sylvia's family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff of the Amherst Unit at Sunbridge of Hadley for their care of Sylvia over the last ten years, especially Christina Badger who went above and beyond her duties as Sylvia's nurse.
