Kenneth "Shorty" W. Shoemake, 73, of Bowling Green passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025 at his residence. He was the son of the late Carl and Lois Tines Shoemake. Kenneth was born in Bowling Green on February 7, 1952.

Kenny served in Vietnam with the United States Marine Corp. He worked many years as a loyal co-worker at Camping World. After retiring, he served as Commander of the American Legion Post # 258 in Auburn, KY. Kenny was a Husband, Father, Popa, Brother, best friend, gentleman, a humble helper to those in need and had a relationship with the Lord.

Kenny is survived by his wife Marilyn (Nicklaus) Shoemake, two daughters; Melissa Cox (Jason) and Laura Cox (Jeff), two sisters; Debbie Collins and Diane Wharton (John), two brothers; Jimmie Shoemake (Melinda) and Joe Shoemake (Gina), three grandchildren; Braxton Cox (Lauren), Ann-Riley Cox, and Emersyn Cox and several nieces and nephews. Kenny is preceded in death by his brother Terry Shoemake, sister-in-law Sharon Shoemake and brother-in-law Jeff Collins.

Visitation at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel will be Tuesday, August 5, 2025 from 1:00 until 2:30 pm. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 pm.
