Kenneth W. Sidles, after a long life and a brief illness, passed away on March 8, 2023 at his home in Robson Ranch, Arizona. He was born on the family farm in Gove County, KS on December 1, 1934. He attended Grinnell and Colby elementary schools until his family moved to Salina, Kansas in 1948. He graduated from Washington High School, now Salina High, in 1952. Ken had a forever interest in cars and bought his first car, a Model T Ford, when he was eleven years old. He earned the money for the Model T by setting pins and sweeping up at the local bowling alley. He wasn't old enough to drive but he owned a car!

He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years Joan Windscheffel Sidles, Smith Center, KS and Robson Ranch, AZ; his sisters Helen Johnson, McDonald, Ks and Sherri Oltman, (Eric Monasmith) Salina; daughters Cyndi Sidles (Brett Fay), Washington, UT, Darla Sidles (Mark Collins), Estes Park, CO, Cynthia Casey Pleet (Jeff Pleet), Anacortes, WA., and Sheryl Houston (Dennis Houston), Honey Creek, IA; granddaughters Brenna Casey, Bothell, WA and Helena Pleet, Anacortes, WA; grandsons Ryan Houston, Fort Gordon, GA and Jack Houston, Twentynine Palms, CA. Ken is also survived by his much loved standard schnauzer dogs April and Kali whom he called his "kids."
Memorial:
Ken's grandson, Mark Arno Casey, was a student at Skagit Valley College when he passed away very unexpectedly in 2015. School was challenging for Mark but he worked hard and excelled. He was often called upon to help other struggling students. The family established a scholarship fund to honor Mark and to help other struggling students continue their education.
