Kenneth Singer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Aftercare Cremation Service - South Amboy on Aug. 15, 2025.
Kenneth John Singer, 63, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Iselin, Ken spent most of his life there before moving to South Amboy in 2019. He was a proud 1980 graduate of John F. Kennedy Memorial High School, where he developed a love for football.
Ken's early years working with his brothers Tom and Bill at Ron's Iselin Exxon set the foundation for his lifelong work ethic and commitment to service. Those skills led him to the Edison Police Department, where he worked as a trusted mechanic, ensuring the safety and readiness of the department's vehicles until his retirement in 2020. Beyond his career, Ken gave generously of his time and heart to the community, coaching his two son's youth football team and serving as a concession manager for the JFK Highschool Mustangs. He was also the proud "cheer dad" for the SCGK cheerleading team, always there to support with a big smile. His dedication to helping others, whether through his work, his volunteer efforts, or simply lending a hand to family and friends, defined the way he lived.
Ken was a passionate San Francisco 49ers fan, through the highs and lows. He loved the simple pleasures of fishing trips on the family boat and treasured vacations with loved ones to the Outer Banks. Ken's sense of humor, kindness, and easygoing nature made him a friend to all; he never met a stranger and treated everyone like family.
Ken is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Lisa, and their triplet children: Daniel, Kyle (wife Sabina Sorge), and Elizabeth Guarino (husband Mike). He is also survived by his brother Walter (wife Pat), sister Ginny Richards (husband Paulie), brother Bill (wife Maria), sister-in-law Mary Singer, his faithful companion Sophie, his mother-in-law Rita Endholz, sisters-in-law Elinor Brooks (husband Joel) and Karen Sarrick, and brother-in-law Robert Endholz. His large extended family includes many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, two great-great-nieces, a great-great-nephew, and countless cousins and friends who adored him. Ken was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Virginia Singer; his brother, Thomas; his father-in-law, Robert Endholz; and his brother-in-law, Tommy Sarrick.
The family is especially grateful to Kathy Jackson, who donated her kidney to Ken and gave him 19 more years with his loved ones. She remains their angel on earth, the one who gave their family more time together. Ken will be remembered as a man who lived with love at the center of all he did. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Ken's memory to With Eddies Help.
Donate your organs, heaven knows they're not needed here.
Relatives and friends are invited to Aftercare Cremation Service, 241 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy, NJ 08879 on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM for a celebration of Kenneth's life.

I am so sorry to hear of Kenny´s passing - not only did I have the pleasure of going to jfk high school with him I was so happy when he married someone I knew from another great moment growing up!! And then Running into them at St. John vianney fairgrounds every year-strollers everywhere. I was also blessed being able to take care of his mom in icu at jfk and then we had the cheerleading craziness. He was a true family man dedicated to a life of being there for everyone and never taking anything for granted. Love to all of you - Laurie Tanzi Durkin

My sincere sympathies to the Singer family. Ken and I grew up together and he was a good friend throughout high school. I saw him on infrequent visits to Iselin after I moved away and his kindness and warmth never dimmed. So sorry to hear of his passing. The world is definitely poorer for it.

Sending Love and Sympathy to the entire Singer Family, so very sorry to hear this. Had not talked to Ken in several years however when we last talked we discussed how much we both loved the San Francisco 49ers. Rest in peace my cousin.

Kenny and I went to high school together and both grew up in the Hilltop section of Iselin. With the invention of Facebook, we re-connected and would chat every so often. I had always known him to be one of the good ones and I see that his kindness and goodness extended into adulthood. Rest in Peace my friend. Love to Kenny's family for this incredible loss.

Sending heartfelt love and sympathy to the Singer family. I didn´t know Kenny as a grown-up, but he was obviously a very fine man. I´m grateful to be one of the many happy cousins in that group photo.

I will always have very fond memories of being with Kenny and the other cousins! The get togethers in NJ were epic.( I was just too young to realize!). Kenny fought the good fight to the end. You will be missed and never forgotten. Prayers to your families.

I am blessed to be one of those countless cousins who truly loved Kenny. We grew up in Virginia Beach and St David´s, PA, and always had so much fun when the Singers would come to town, or we would travel to Iselin. He was a joy! Sending love to the family.
