Kenneth Stinson, 63, passed into his Saviors care on February 25, 2024. Kenny was born April 16, 1960, to Earl and Maxine Stinson in Perry, Florida
Kenny grew up in Tallahassee, Florida attending North Florida Christian School, where he made life-long friendships that remained strong throughout his life.
After graduation Kenny joined the US Army, serving with the 101st Airborne Division (as Kenny would say "Screaming Eagles, baby"), stationed in Fort Campbell Kentucky, obtaining the rank of E5 Sergeant. He received the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Accommodation Medal, and the Air Assault Wings during his service.
After a life-changing injury, Kenny returned to Tallahassee and graduated from the Florida State University. He worked for the Florida Department of Transportation and the Florida Department of Revenue, retiring in 2020.
Kenny had a love for God, Family and Country that was evident in every aspect of his life. He was a deacon at Bradfordville First Baptist Church, working with and ministering to the widows of the church. He was a loving husband, proud father and Papa, and loyal friend to many. Kenny was proud of his military service, always flying the flag high and honoring his country in any way he could. Kenny and Jeni spent twenty-three loving years together living a beautiful life as each other's love of a lifetime.
Kenny was a valiant fighter, enduring many challenges throughout his life, facing each one with strength and character. He never allowed his disability to hold him back from living life large. He carried the Olympic Torch for a segment on its way to Atlanta, Georgia for the 1996 Summer Olympics. He participated with SportsAbility where he loved fishing the Gulf of Mexico and hunting deer with his friends. Kenny founded, facilitated, and funded the Braddock Parker Award to honor the Volunteer of the Year for Elder Care Service as a way of honoring two precious care givers after their passing. Kenny is and always will be a hero to his family and friends.
Kenny is survived by his wife Jennifer; daughters Kaylan Stinson Smith (Ryan), Carrie Posey Finn (Trace) and son Robbie Posey (Jacey); grandchildren, Lowen and Legend Smith, and Tyson and Cooper Posey. Kenny is also survived by his sweet mother, Maxine Stinson Hart; his brother Clifford Bennet (Terri) and sisters, Sissy Khoury (Ron) and Tina Halbert (Glenn). Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Earl Stinson, and brother Robert Stinson.
The family will receive family and friends from 6-8PM, Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Bevis Funeral Home, 200 John Knox Road, Tallahassee. Celebration of Kenny's life will be at 10:00AM, Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Bradfordville First Baptist Church, 6524 Thomasville Road, Tallahassee. Internment, with full honors will be 12 Noon at the Tallahassee National Cemetery, 5015 Apalachee Pkwy, Tallahassee.
Kenny's passion project was the Braddock Parker Award which he personally founded, facilitated, and funded. He would want it to continue on without him, in order to recognize those volunteers of Elder Care Services that truly go above and beyond, for years to come. In memory of Kenny and the beloved caretakers he named the award after and have presented the award to since, memorial contributions are encouraged to be mailed to:

I remember Kenny being kind to me at North Florida Christian. He was a couple of grades older but still treated me with respect! Rest in peace Kenny!

Every time I saw Kenny at church., I always smiled, and shared many laughs when church was over. The other day someone said he is no longer in pain. I know Kenny had limitians but the way he approached and lived life he did not let his pain ever impact how he treated us.
