Kenneth “Kenny” Lynn Taliaferro, 55, of Odessa, passed away on October 24, 2025 in Odessa.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Odessa.
Funeral services will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Friday, October 31, 2025 at 2:00 PM, and will be officiated by Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Kenny was born in Odessa, Texas to Marquis and Hattie Taliaferro on April 25,1970, and graduated from Permian High School in 1989.
Kenny spent many years working for the family business, Markco Machine Works, before branching out on his own and founding Freedom Fishing and Rental. He later found his passion for cooking crawfish, and spent the last several years operating his food truck, West Texas Crawfish Depot, and competing in sanctioned cookoffs, winning second place in the 2024 SCCA cookoff. Always an avid lover of the outdoors, Kenny was often found either fishing or hunting in his free time. Kenny also enjoyed spending time with his many friends, and beloved family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Marquis Eldred Taliaferro Jr., his grandparents Marquis Eldred Taliaferro Sr., and Dorothy Nell Taliaferro. Along with his uncle, John Kenneth Taliaferro.
Kenny is survived by his three children, Justin, Nichole, and Jace Taliaferro; his mother, Hattie Taliaferro; and his brothers, Marquis III and Michael Taliaferro. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Monica and Dana Taliaferro, and his beloved nieces and nephews, Marquis IV, Mason, Courtney, and Chase Taliaferro, along with his many other dear family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Gary Smart, Mike Bohannan, Scott Erwin, Nathan Theaux, Chris Taliaferro, and Kevin Miller.
Kenny’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the teams at Hospice of Midland, and The Parks Senior Living for the care they provided.
