Kenneth "Kenny" Ray Tingle, 68, Shelbyville, died Sunday, March 24, 2024 at U. of L. Shelbyville Hospital following an illness. A native of Shelbyville, he was the son of the late James Ray and Anna Elizabeth Phillips Tingle. He worked many years at Snow Hill Nurseries, driving trucks for long-distance deliveries, planting trees and shrubs and doing general maintenance as required. He also formerly worked for Thompson & Nash for many years. Kenny was an avid fisherman. He could often be located at one of his favorite ponds or pay-lakes fishing. He also enjoyed playing the lottery, drinking his Pepsis and he thoroughly enjoyed sweets. He was an avid UK fan. He was a Christian by faith and had attended several local churches over the years.
In addition to his parents, one sister, Betty Ann Tingle, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his daughter, Tabatha G. Tingle; his son, Todd Tingle, both of Shelbyville; three brothers, Allen Tingle (Janetta) of Richmond, David Tingle of New Castle and Louis Tingle (Teresa) of Bloomfield; three grandsons, Daniel Mitchell, Austin Mitchell and Joshua Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Webb Funeral Home with visitation after 11 a.m. Rev. Bill Taylor will officiate. Cremation will follow the services in accordance with his wishes. The cremated remains will be privately interred later.
