Kenneth Gerald Wallace

Kenneth Gerald Wallace, 81, of Rossville, GA, departed this life to spend eternity with his Savior on March 2, 2026.

Gerald was born September 8, 1944, to Kenneth Wylie Wallace and Juanita Wallace Watson. He attended McMinn County School. He married Bonnie Stockman on April 26, 1969, and left two months later to serve his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was honorably discharged with a Bronze Star in 1971, and a U.S. Army Commendation Medal. They settled in Rossville, GA, and had two children, Randall (Abigail) Wallace and Trudi (Jeff) Porter, grandchildren, Kyle (Hannah) Wallace and Levi Moberly.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, Lee Watson; his siblings, Glenna Nettles, Martha Elleman, and Jimmy Wallace.

Gerald was a faithful member of Battlefield Baptist Church for the past 38 years, where he and Bonnie were actively involved in all ministries of the church. Gerald worked at W.L. Jackson and Shaw Industries. Gerald loved Nascar, fishing, and classic cars. Well done, thou good and faithful servant.

A visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Battlefield Baptist Church, 178 S. Cedar Ln, Fort Oglethorpe, GA 30742, and he will lie in state from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour. A burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery where the U.S. Army will perform military honors.

Pallbearers will be Robbie Elleman, Jerry LaFleur, Jeff Stockman, Mike Elleman, Eric Elleman, and Kyle Wallace. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Neil, Jeff Payne, and Dennis Guinn.
