Kenneth L. Zieger, 71, of Miller, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, with family at his side.
Celebration of Kenneth's life will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Miller, with Rev. Rhonda Wellsandt-Zell officiating. Burial will follow at G.A.R. Cemetery, Miller. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the funeral service.
Kenny was born October 30, 1952, in Belle Fourche, South Dakota to Herbert and Gladys (Dennler) Zieger. Kenny's journey through life included many adventures. His story began on a farm in rural Hand County. After graduating from Miller High School in 1970, he lived and worked in many parts of the United States building commercial structures.
His path eventually led him back to South Dakota where he returned to farm. He found his passion in raising pheasants. Many hours that turned into years were spent learning and perfecting the craft of raising birds highly sought after by game lodges around the Midwest.
Kenny lived his life with no apologies. He enjoyed spirited conversations with family and friends. He left life well lived on his own terms and will be greatly missed.
Kenny is survived by his significant other, Kim Edwards of St. Lawrence; sisters: Penny (John) Fanning of Sioux Falls, and Carole (Mike) Clements of Miller; brother, Joel (Rhonda) Zieger of Billings, MT; nephews: Heath (Sarah) Fanning, Quentin Fanning, Blaine (Kristi) Fanning and Dan (Angie) Clements; niece, Jenny (Cory) McKinstry; 16 great nieces and nephews; and three great-great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Gladys Zieger; and niece, Sara Fanning.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Ken's arrangements.
