Kennetha Klein, 54, of Clive, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026 due to long-term complications from Guillain-Barré Syndrome. Born on November 29, 1971, in Newton, Iowa, Kennetha was the daughter of Kenneth and Sandra (Wesley) Ferguson. She spent much of her life in service to others, whether through her work as a nurse or her dedication to her community.

Kennetha graduated from Baxter High School before earning an associate's degree from Indian Hills Community College. After starting her career at Principal in Des Moines, her passion for helping others led her to return to school for nursing. Over the years, she worked for the Polk County Jail, MercyOne Hospital, and most recently, the VA Healthcare System in Des Moines.

A longtime member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Kennetha was actively involved in many parish activities and local organizations. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and took joy in running the kids' corner at the Clive Festival. She was also active with many activities that included local veterans.

Kennetha was known for her creativity, whether it was crafting, painting, or her amazing gardening skills. She loved to keep the flower garden at the VA Hospital flourishing. She enjoyed traveling to warm places, thrifting, and fostering a deep love for animals, especially her cats. She also generously shared her time with the Dowling Catholic PTC, demonstrating her passion for education and community.

Kennetha is survived by her devoted husband of 18 years, Eric; children, Austin and Carson Klein; sisters, Cheryl McKinney, Sandi Purvis, Mari Ferguson, and Barb Rowden; along with many extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Sandra.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2026 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home with a Rosary taking place at 4:30 pm. Funeral mass will begin at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 17, 2026 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Des Moines. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League and/or to the Daughters of the American Revolution.
