Kenny DePriest, a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away on October 14, 2025, at the age of 61. His life began in Fort Worth, Texas, on August 23, 1964. Kenny was a man who lived with a heart full of love and passion for the simple pleasures in life, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by many.
Kenny dedicated a significant portion of his professional life to Crowley Independent School District, where he worked in maintenance, ensuring that the facilities were kept in top condition for students and staff alike. He took pride in his work, always going above and beyond to support the community. His hands not only built and repaired but also nurtured a sense of belonging among those he served.
In June 2010, Kenny married the love of his life, Carrie Scott. Their union was a testament to companionship and mutual respect, creating a home filled with laughter, warmth, and love. Together, they built a family that blossomed with the addition of his son, Dustin DePriest, and his wife, Miranda, and her daughter, Mandy Lea McDonald, along with her husband, Kenny. Kenny reveled in the joys of fatherhood and embraced his role as a family man wholeheartedly.
Kenny's joy multiplied through his grandchildren: Malacki Mendoza and Alexis Mendoza, Mason Mendoza and Rylee Mendoza, Maddox McDonald and Faith McDonald, McCaid McDonald and Jocelyn McDonald, and he was proud to be a great-grandfather to Jackson. Each moment spent with his family was a treasure he held dear. His playful spirit and readiness to engage in fun activities like fishing, playing dominoes, and camping brought endless smiles to his loved ones. Kenny was also an avid listener of live music, and his spirit thrived in the lively atmosphere where he could share joyful experiences with family and friends.
His adventurous streak was evident in his younger years when he proudly rode bulls, showcasing courage that would become an emblem of his character. Kenny never shied away from a challenge, and the stories of his bravado continue to inspire those who knew him.
