Funeral mass for Kerry Huffer, 86, of
Lawton, OK will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Mr. Huffer passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at his home.
Burial will follow at Fort Sill National Cemetery.
Viewing will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
Kerry was born on September 24, 1939 in Warsaw, Indiana to Lindsey Blue and Eva (Study) Huffer. He grew up on a farm in Warsaw, IN and graduated from Beaver Dam High School. Mr. Huffer joined the United States Air Force and after proudly serving for 10 years he joined the United States Army. While serving in the Army he worked on the Executive Flight Detachment for the Presidents, receiving Presidential Seals from President's Ford and Nixon. He met the love of his life, Elizabeth Shelton, and married her on February 20, 1960 in Columbus, Mississippi, and to this union three children were added. Mr. Huffer treasured his family and found great joy in spending time with them, especially his grandchildren. Kerry was a faithful member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic church were he served as an usher, he also volunteered at Family Promise of Lawton, and served meals for Prison Ministry. He enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, square dancing, and traveling in their RV.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth Huffer, of the home; his sons, Mark Huffer and wife, Christy and Steven Huffer; his sister, Sonja Creighton and husband, Mike; his grandchildren, Zachary, Jessica, and Kari; his great grandchildren, Elijah, Marley, Ryker, and Sadie; and many other loving family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Bruce Wayne Huffer; and his grandson, Kerry "Nate" Huffer; his brothers, Dee and Ted; and his sister, Phyllis.
