Kerry Joseph Sawtelle, 63 of Dalton, passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2025.
Born in Pittsfield on December 17, 1961, he was the son of Ronald and Lorraine Sawtelle and Joan Cornellier Sawtelle.
He was a 1979 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School.
Mr. Sawtelle was a United States Marine Veteran from 1981- 1984, and was honorably discharged as a Lance Corporal.
He was employed by Crane and Company from 1996 and its successor Mativ.
For over 18 years, Kerry was an active member of the COBB Motorcycle Society. He enjoyed spending time with his friends (brothers), riding his Harley Davidson. He also loved riding dirt bikes with his grandson Luke. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, snow shoeing, camping in New Hampshire or just sitting by a campfire with friends and family.
Kerry was a very dedicated and caring individual that would do anything for family and friends without hesitation.
Kerry is survived by his fiancé, Jacquelyn Ferin of Dalton. His children, Alisha Vanasse and husband Jeffrey, Jake Sawtelle and partner Nicole Dupont, Ronnie Sawtelle, Hollie Ferin, Michael Ferin and Jacob Ferin; brothers, Keith Sawtelle, Gaynelle Sawtelle; sisters, Donna Sheldon (James), Darcey Sawtelle, Rhonda Sawtelle (Neil Maslowski). He also leaves his beloved grandchildren, Piper, Rylee, Addison, Alonna, Lucas, Noah, Hunter, Rose and Jake and great-grandson, Jackson. Kerry also is survived by many extended family members.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Nicole Sawtelle, mother, Joan Sawtelle, father, Ronald Sawtelle and step-mother, Lorraine Sawtelle.
There will be a celebration of life at the Dalton American Legion on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 12 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his name to Shriner's Hospital in care of Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890 E. Main St. Dalton, MA 01226
