Sandra Louise Blessing, 76 of Pittsfield, passed away July 24, 2025 at Hillcrest Commons Nursing Care Center. Born in Boston, MA on April 16, 1949, she was the daughter of Mariano and Elizabeth Parker DiPierro. Sandra married the late Arthur O. Blessing, Jr., on July 23, 1966. He predeceased her in 2003. Mrs. Blessing worked 27 years at Crane and Company in the guilding department. Prior to that she had been employed by Greylock Plastics and Ashmere Nursing Home. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, was a proud member of the Italian American Club. Sandy cherished time spent with family and loved her family gatherings that brought us all together. She most cherished her chats and visits from her grandchildren. Mrs. Blessing is survived by her children, Robert A. Blessing of Pittsfield and James E. Blessing and significant other, Deanna of Pittsfield. Grandchildren, Parker (Lauren), Megan (Dennis), Austin, Ryan (Autumn); Deanna's daughters, Lauren (Bret and their children, Aiden, Lincoln and Violet) and Maia. Sandy's first great-grandson is expected to arrive next week. A brother, Frank DiPierro and wife Cynthia of Hinsdale; In-laws, Janet, David (Andrea). She was predeceased by her brothers Joseph, Albert, sister Mariam, and sister in-law, Carol. FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside services will be held, Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Pittsfield Cemetery. Those attending are asked to meet inside the gates at 10:45 a.m. There are no calling hours. A celebration of life will follow at the Dalton VFW following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
