Kevin M. Casey, 65, of Fremont, OH passed away unexpectantly at his home on August 25, 2024. He was born on March 31, 1959 in Rockville Centre, New York the son of Daniel and Marilyn (Martin) Casey. He was a 1977 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cleveland State University in 1985.
Kevin married Tracy Light on April 30, 1982 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and she survives. Kevin worked in nuclear energy for over forty-four years working primarily for Davis Besse until he retired in May 2024. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed coaching youth sports. He was a t-ball and softball coach, junior high CYO volleyball coach at Sacred Heart, and swimming coach for SJCC for over ten years. Kevin was also an avid Cleveland Indians/Guardians and Ohio State fan. He enjoyed running, swimming, biking, the outdoors, and his daily trip to Tim Horton’s. Kevin also loved the beach and spending time at Fort Myers Beach, FL.
Kevin is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Teresa “Tracy” Casey, Fremont; daughter, Megan Casey; siblings, Kathy (Napoleon) DasGupta, Chicago, Patricia Bush, Washington, DC and Jim (Karenlee) Casey, Naperville, IL; father-in-law, Tom Light, Sr.; brothers and sister-in-laws, Tom (Cindy) Light, Jr., Lisa (Al) Swaisgood and Tim (Beth) Light; six nieces and six nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Ann Light and brother-in-law, Daniel Bush.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH.
A celebration of life will follow at 6:00 pm at the funeral home. The family would like to invite you to please wear your Cleveland Indians/Guardians or Ohio State gear to the service.
Burial will take place at a later date at St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont, OH.
Memorials can be made to YMCA of Sandusky County.
