Kevin Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Crain and Sons Funeral Home - Franklinton on Jan. 23, 2026.
Kevin "Blyss" Davis entered into eternal rest on January 14, 2026, at home in Algiers, LA. Kevin, A.K.A "Blyss" was born on May 15, 1969 to Ms. Creola Davis and Mr. Rudolph Bolds. He, however, did not enter into the world alone, but as a twin brother to Keith Davis.

Kevin was educated in the Orleans Parish School System: Johnson C. Lockett Elementary, Joseph Kohn Junior High and graduated from Francis T. Nicholls High School. During Kevin's formative years, he knew early on that he was different. He battled becoming what he felt that he always was meant to be. By the time Kevin was readying to graduate, Blyss was ready to hit the scene. Blyss was the butterfly that emerged from Kevin's cocoon. Blyss was a dazzling light that brightened every person that she encountered. Sometimes, that same light burned people… but oh well!

Blyss' presence will remain with everyone. Kevin A.K.A Blyss was preceded in death by his loving mother, Creola Davis. Her loving heart and godly spirit would provide direction throughout life. Blyss' father, Rudolph Bolds, passed away a few years earlier, they grew to be really close over the years.

Kevin A.K.A Blyss leaves to cherish: a son, Shawn Donsereaux of Metairie, LA; a twin brother and a cherished sister-in-law, Keith & Teresa Davis of Beaufort, South Carolina; brother, Rudolph Bolds, Jr. and sister-in-law/friend, Crishon Bolds; and sister, Kevia Bolds.; nieces & nephews including, Jason Spain, Darius, Briana, Ariana, and Jared Davis as well as Trameka, Kaelyn, Rudolph III, Riley, Raven and Rudi Bolds, and Gerald Watson. Cherished aunts, Linda Franklin, Diane Covington, Bronice Duplessis all of Franklinton, LA. Uncles, Phillip Davis of Alabama and Scottie Davis of Franklinton, LA. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins including but not limited to two sisters/cousins, Vanessa Jackson & Paula Franklin. The family of Blyss Davis is a whole other matter, that number can not be easily counted. Blyss was known as a motherly figure & friend to many she encountered, including but not limited to Quenton Jones, Keenya Chisholm, Myron Ross, Warren Marshall, Esha Ratliff, Daphne Dupree, and Paul.

Blyss' professional career was one of culinary arts & hospitality. She excelled as a chef at Hotel Barnett where she worked for several years. Blyss was known throughout the community as a trail-blazer with an unwavering spirit, touching many souls throughout her time here on Earth. Some of her passions included cooking, graphic design/fashion, advocating for the LGBTQ+ community, and her animals which she cherished DEEPLY. Blyss had a very lively spirit, bigger than life itself some may say, and she will be missed beyond measure.
