Kevin Michael "PaPaw" Farley

Kevin Michael Farley passed away on April 1, 2025. He was born on August 6, 1959, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Forrest and Peggy Farley. At the age of ten, his family transferred to Perrin Air Force Base in Denison, Texas. Kevin graduated from Denison High School before graduating college at the University of Texas in Austin. Kevin was a Longhorn fan through and through.

On May 24, 1996, Kevin married his wife Dana, and together they built a beautiful life, raising four children. He dedicated much of his career to public service, working for the Texoma Council of Governments before becoming the City Manager of Pottsboro, Texas. Kevin had vast knowledge of State and Federal Programs and served on numerous state and local boards supporting the County. He was immensely proud of the growth of the Pottsboro Community during his time as City Manager.

Kevin, fondly called PaPaw, had a deep love for his Grands. He enjoyed "all things" Grands and cherished every moment with his family. Kevin also loved golf and fishing. He would sneak down to his little pond to wet a hook every chance he could.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dana Farley; his children, Canaan Farley, Candace Trotter and husband Jeremy, Cole Gatlin and wife Lisa, and Christopher Gatlin and wife Jessica. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Grace Blood, Emma Wiley and husband Mason, Canaan Farley Jr., Alexis Farley, Cason Farley, Callie Gatlin, Brayden Trotter, Clara Gatlin, Greer Gatlin, Granger Gatlin, Jett Farley, and Jackson Trotter, as well as his great-granddaughter, Maebry Wiley.

Kevin is also survived by his brother, Richard Farley, and wife Cyndy, his sister, Kimi Emerson, and husband Randy, along with man's best friend, Minnie, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Steven Farley and wife Jill, and his niece Nikki Farley.

A visitation will be held Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Denison Pottsboro Chapel, 511 FM 120, Pottsboro, TX 75076.

A funeral service will be held Friday, April 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Denison Pottsboro Chapel.

Interment will be immediately after the service at Georgetown Cemetery, 539 Cemetery Rd, Pottsboro, TX 75076.

Pallbearers: Mark Blankenship, Canaan Farley, Jr., Cason Farley, Kevin Farley, Ricky Farley, Shone Nix, Terry Thomas, Darren Vaden.

Honorary Pallbearers: Ryan Garcia, George O'Brien, Matt Thompson, Pottsboro Police, Fire and Public Works teams.

The family would like to thank Kevin's medical staff, Dr. Ted Truly, Dr. Srinivasa Reddy, Dr. Anil Singh, Dr. Adarsh Sidda, Dr. Konduri and the staff at Texas Oncology, and Texas Institute of Neurology. Also, Texoma Rides- Johnny and Kari and staff for the exceptional care they provided along with transportation to and from Dallas.

Kevin will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and love for family will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
