Grieco Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.Kevin Paul Fogarty, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend passed away peacefully after battling cancer on March 26, 2026 at his home in Houston, Texas, at the age of 65.
Kevin is survived by his devoted wife, Susan, and his son, Eric. He is also survived by his father, Eugene, five younger siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eileen.
Kevin was born on November 6, 1960, at Valley Forge Army Hospital. As a child, he lived in Imperial Beach, California, and Norristown, Pennsylvania. In the late 1960s, his family moved to West Grove, Pennsylvania, where he attended Assumption BVM School.
Kevin was a 1978 graduate of St. Mark’s High School, where he lettered in both cross country and basketball. In addition to athletics, he was active in the performing arts, playing several lead roles in school musicals. He was active in student government serving as Vice-President his senior year. He was a member of the National Honor Society and valedictorian of his graduating class.
Kevin graduated from Villanova University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering, earning highest honors and serving as the valedictorian of the School of Engineering. Though he excelled academically his college experience extended beyond the classroom. He was an inaugural member of the TKO fraternity and served as an orientation counselor. He was also recognized as Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities.
Kevin began his career as a research engineer at ARCO Chemical in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. In the early 1980s, he relocated to Texas where he built a distinguished career spanning more than four decades with LyondellBasell. He held many leadership positions supporting manufacturing and design, most recently serving as Director of Research and Development and Director of Global Intermediates and Derivatives and Olefins R&D. Recognized for his expertise in plant start-ups, Kevin spent several years abroad including assignments in the US, China, France and the Netherlands, where he learned to speak fluent French. Kevin was also a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
After moving to Houston, Kevin continued his lifelong love of athletics. He enjoyed playing golf and met his wife, Susan, while playing in a recreational softball league. A passionate Villanova basketball fan, he attended the national championship games in 2016 and 2018. Kevin was also a season ticket holder for the Houston Astros and enjoyed fly fishing with his family. He remained closely connected with his siblings, often spending summers with family in the Outer Banks.
Kevin will be remembered for his quick wit, warm sense of humor, and deep devotion to his family. He approached life with a competitive yet gracious spirit, working hard while always making time to celebrate life with those he loved. Known for his sharp mind, Kevin never met a puzzle he couldn’t finish. He believed using the picture of a completed puzzle was “cheating”. He did the daily crossword puzzle in ink. In recent years he enjoyed a daily family Wordle text thread, where he often amazed everyone by solving the puzzle in just a few guesses.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate a memorial mass with Kevin’s family at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Street, Houston, Texas.
Additional services will take place on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Assumption BVM Catholic Church, 300 State Road, West Grove, Pennsylvania. Visitation with the family from 9:45-10:45am with Mass at 11:00am. Interment will be private.
