Kevin Brian Fretwell, of Lee County, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital at the age of 54. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Andrew Kornegay will officiate.
Born on March 23, 1971, in Corydon, Indiana, to the late John E. and Gail Parker Fretwell. A proud graduate of Troy University, Kevin earned a Master's degree in History and he dedicated many years of his life to teaching history at Monroe High School and later at Westover High School. He also coached baseball and wrestling, shaping the lives of countless young athletes.
Kevin was an avid sports enthusiast who found joy in coaching and teaching. He enjoyed playing golf when he was able and always planned his days around the sporting events that would be airing on television.
Kevin is survived by his daughters, Dailyn Fretwell and Parker Fretwell, both of Lee County, Georgia. His siblings, Stanley Fretwell (Shana) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and David Fretwell of Lee County, Georgia, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held following the memorial services.
