Sara Margaret Farris Pietrantoni passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, at her home in The Radcliff, Wood Dale, Illinois, at the age of 92. Born on October 10, 1932, in Elba, Alabama Sara led a life marked by faith, intelligence, adventure, and a vibrant interest in a myriad of activities.
Sara was the beloved wife of the late Reno Pietrantoni, and together they shared a lifetime of memories. She is survived by her loving son Ron and daughter-in-law Carol, her devoted daughter Sandra, son-in-law Russell, and cherished granddaughter Sofia DeAngelus, as well as her loving son Roger, sister, Kate Hudson, along with many nieces and nephews, who will fondly remember her nurturing spirit and unwavering support.
Sara's early years were spent in Elba, Alabama where she cultivated a lifelong passion for learning and education. She carried this love through her academic journey, earning a Bachelor of Arts from Troy University in Troy, Alabama, and later, a Master's in Education from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Her dedication to education was evident in her career as a respected substitute teacher and high school business teacher, where she touched the lives of countless students with her wisdom and steadfast dedication to lesson plans.
Aside from her professional life, Sara was an accomplished Vanda and MaryKay Beauty consultant, empowering women and encouraging self-care and confidence. Her involvement in work and community was matched by her devotion to her faith as a lifelong Christian. Sara's voice graced the church choir for many years, reflecting her love for music and worship.
Sara's zest for life shone through in her wide array of interests and hobbies. As a member of The Villages, FL retirement community, she was an active participant in numerous activities. Whether she was perfecting her aim in air gun shooting, learning line dances, square dancing, tap dancing, the game of billiards, or taking up golf in her 70s, Sara embraced each day with much enthusiasm.
Her commitment to her community was also evident through her long-standing volunteer work at the hospital gift shop, where she brought smiles and comfort to patients and visitors alike.
Sara's life was a testament to her strength, grace, and the love she generously extended to all. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know her. Sara Margaret Farris Pietrantoni's memory will be held in the hearts of her family, friends, and all the lives she touched with her vibrant spirit. She will be deeply missed, but her beautiful soul will forever resonate with those who loved her.

Very sorry for your loss. My mother, Betty Rushing, grew up with Sara and they were close friends for many years.

I remember many years ago when the church was named Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was a Godly woman.
