Kevin G. Hoover, age 58, entered into eternal life on Monday, July 28, 2025, in
Wooster, OH following a courageous four and a half year battle with cancer. His constant companion was his wife. She along with beloved friend Roxanne Cassidy, his only son Jeremy Copley-Wood, and his youngest daughter Joy Hoover walked him home during the final few days of his journey.
Born on December 30, 1966 in Detroit, Michigan, Kevin lived a life marked by devotion to his wife and children, unwavering faith, and a joyous temperament which touched all those he came in contact with. He was married to Celeste Hoover the love of his life and his truest companion. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together they built a beautiful family that brought Kevin immense pride and joy. He was a devoted father to Jacqueline Wood of Willis, Texas, Jeremy Copley-Wood (Audrey Cooper) of Conroe, Texas and Joy Hoover (Amer Al-Lhaibi) of Howland, Ohio. Grandchildren, Andrew Wallace, Elizabeth Walsh, Victoria Walsh, Jeremy Copley-Wood Jr., Connor Copley-Wood, Declan Cooper, Dylan Cooper, Ayman Al-Lhaibi and Jeanette Al-Lhaibi.
He enjoyed fishing, boating, and was a car and truck enthusiast. Yet mostly loved collecting memories with his family and friends. Kevin never met a stranger and always loved to laugh. His faith guided his life. He held strong Christian morals and values that were evident in the way he treated others with kindness, generosity and compassion. His light-hearted nature made him a joy to be around. He had a gift for making people laugh and feel welcome wherever he went. A man of many interests and talents Kevin found peace and solitude in fishing trips and joy in tinkering with vehicles. A hobby that reflected both his patience and creativity. He loved spending time with his wife on the beaches of Cape Cod. It was there that time slowed and work did not seem like work. He treasured every moment spent just the two of them. Living with the ebb and flow of the tides, evening sunsets and morning sunrises. The migrations of the birds, seals, whales and sharks never got old to Kevin. Yet as much as he enjoyed his career it was just as wonderful to him to be able to visit and love on his children and grandchildren. It was in autumn when the seasons slowed and then again in winter when he was greeted with the sunshine of the familiar faces that he loved so dearly.
Kevin began his career working for Conroe Independent School District as a Computer Technician in Texas. Relocating to the Wooster area in 2001 where he worked briefly for Wayne County Schools, then began managing local auto part stores. He then moved into a management position with his wife. This allowed them to work together as a team. Fulfilling a life long dream. Starting with managing youth hostels on Cape Cod and later managing independent retirement communities throughout New England. Returning to Cape Cod to manage hotels, and condominiums prior to his retirement.
Kevin is survived by his wife of 38 years, his children and grandchildren, close friend, Roxanne Cassidy of Wooster; close friend, Julie Hill of Houston, Texas; Mentors, "Momma & Poppa", Kenneth (Deany) Lowry of Houston, Texas; Also, his beloved canine companion, Sophia.
