Kevin Del Lambert was born on September 15th, 1955 to Delbert Earl Lambert and Karel Mae Pinckney in Salt Lake City, UT. He died on December 15th, 2024 in Tacoma, WA. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Anne, and brother Ted.
He graduated from the University of Utah medical school and residency of psychiatry and had a private practice in Salt Lake City for many years. He loved being able to help and counsel people in need.
Kevin was sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple to Jenette Blair on February 19th, 1985. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters: Aly (married to David Snow) and Jenny.
He had a sharp scientific mind but was also an artist, with particular skill in wood-turning and bonsai.
He loved collecting rocks and finding beauty in nature, and taught his children to look with an eye of curiosity and wonder at Earth's treasures and God's creations. Some of his children's fondest memories involve trips rockhounding in the deserts of Utah and beaches of Oregon.
He had a deep and profound relationship with his wife, children, parents, and siblings. He was a kind, gentle, and giving man who had a strong spiritual sense of God's presence in the world and shared those insights openly with his family.
His body was challenged with serious medical problems for many years, needing multiple surgeries and interventions. These problems were exponentially disabling in the last few years; however, he met this with grace, kindness, and a positive attitude. Despite being wheelchair-bound, having weakened hands and limbs, and suffering from severe chronic pain, he still often cooked for his family. He was an exceptional cook and loved good food.
He maintained lifetime connections with his LDS fraternity brothers.
His daughters were the joy of his life, and he was so excited to learn shortly before his death that he was going to be a grandfather. He was profoundly influenced by his Grandpa Pinckney.
While he was not an animal lover and was highly allergic to any furred creatures, because of his deep love for his daughters, he welcomed multiple reptiles into the family fold. Though he very much wanted to turn one iguana into a wallet because of her repeated biting, he was fond of many of them.
He loved long late-night conversations with his daughter Jenny, and making homemade chocolate sauce for ice cream.
As his challenges grew, so did his faith. He trusted and loved his Savior and shared that testimony openly, often tearfully.
He is intensely loved and deeply missed. We are grateful to share his faith that through Jesus Christ we will be reunited again.
