KEVIN TATE
April 3, 1963 - July 29,2024
Kevin Tate was born on April 3, 1963, in Baton Rouge, La to the late Willie and Mary Tate. He called to his Heavenly home on Monday, July 29, 2024. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Kevin was a hard worker all of his life. He first started working in a grocery store when he was attending high school, then he worked at a paper mill, as a hotel maintenance person at Embassy Suites, and a driver for Motion Industries. He worked for the Baker Post Office for more than 30 years before his passing.
In his younger days, Kevin loved playing basketball and football. As he got older, he enjoyed watching sports and talking about his favorite teams to others. He loved to BBQ! He was always barbecuing for his family and friends.
Kevin leaves behind precious memories his children: Brandon Tate of Moore, OK, Brittany Tate of Houston, TX, Christopher Tate of Jeanerette, LA, Crystal Tate of New Iberia, LA, Christian Tate of Franklin, LA, and Phillip Tate of Lehi, UT; stepchildren: Mahogany Armstead of San Antonio, TX, Delwin Armstead of New Iberia, LA, whom he raised as his own children for the past 39 years, Victoria Celestine, Alecia Celestine, and Myles Campbell; his siblings: Michelle Tate and Kerry Tate, both of Baton Rouge, LA; a nephew, Jalen; and a host of grandchildren, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Kevin will be greeted in glory by those who preceded him in death: his loving father and mother, Willie and Mary Tate and his beloved uncle Larry.

I have known Kevin my whole life. My first memory of Kevin was a host of family functions: birthday parties, Easter dinners, Thanksgiving dinners, Christmas dinners, and New Year's Celebrations Kevin, I will miss you.

He was one of the best cousins that I ever had. Kevin was a gentle person who loved his family. He would help anyone and everyone and not complain or grip about it. There was nothing he would not do for his family. A great listener, and a man of Godly wisdom. I will cherish and hold our conversations close. I love you cousin to infinity and beyond. I will miss you. I will see you in heaven. Until we meet again RIP in heaven.
