Kevin Whitney Obituary

Kevin James Whitney, known affectionately as Kevin to his friends and family, embarked on his final adventure on March 23, 2024, at the age of 63. Born on the first of March in 1961, in the picturesque town of Burlington, Vermont, Kevin's zest for life and laughter began early and never waned. He passed away in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, leaving behind a legacy of joy and a cloud of laughter in the wake of his battle with COPD.
Kevin's life was a testament to the power of humor and the spirit of never taking oneself too seriously. He was the kind of guy who could find a punchline in the mundane and turn a frown upside down with just a quip. His love for the New England sports teams-the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins-was as legendary as his comedic timing. Win or lose, Kevin always had a joke ready to lighten the hearts of fellow fans.
His daughter Samantha Whitney, the apple of his eye, inherited her dad's funny bone and his love for the great outdoors. Kevin's grandchildren, Anya and Mason, were the recipients of his playful tales and whimsical adventures, often featuring their granddad as the unlikely hero. His sister, Kathy Whitney-Glyvin, along with her husband Gennadiy, shared in the laughter and the occasional eye roll that only Kevin could inspire.
Kevin's spirit was as free as the open road, and he was often seen riding his motorcycle, with the wind as his companion and the horizon as his guide. He wasn't just passing through the landscape; he was a part of it, pausing to appreciate the wildlife and sharing stories with anyone who had a moment to spare. His adventurous soul was matched only by his quick wit, and his journeys were as much about the people he met as the places he saw.
Funny, spirited, and adventurous-these words encapsulate the essence of Kevin. He was the life of the party, the unexpected comedian at the dinner table, and the friend who could make you laugh until you cried. His humor was a gift, one that he shared generously and without reservation. It was the kind of humor that stayed with you, a warm memory to be cherished and passed on.
As we bid farewell to Kevin James Whitney, let us do so with a smile, for that is undoubtedly how he would have wanted it. His laughter echoes in the stories he told, the lives he touched, and the memories he created. While the curtain may have closed on his final act, the encore of his influence will continue to resonate with all who knew him.
So here's to Kevin-a man who taught us that life is not about the destination, but the laughter shared along the way. May his journey be filled with the joy he brought to others, and may his legacy be as enduring as the love he had for his family, his friends, and the occasional well-timed joke. Goodnight, sweet prince of jesters; may flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.
