Charles Khuang Lian Uk returned home to his heavenly father on May 18, 2025.
Charles was born to Jennie and Dennis Vumzathang on May 26, 1988 in Lumbang Village, Falam Township, Chin State, Myanmar, and was the fourth son of their seven children.
He came to the U.S on April 26, 2005, and has lived in Battle Creek, MI since. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 2007. He has been an active member of the Burmese Catholic Association and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Charles was passionate about faith, family, listening to music and was the happiest being with family and his children. He would be taking them to church on a weekly basis. Through his commitment to his faith, his son, Pius, serves regularly at the church and is interested in the priesthood. Charles' affection for priests was also profound and he would do anything for them. He loved soccer and played during his high school years at Battle Creek Central High School. Charles was always a kind and loving friend to so many, and you could always find a big smile on his face especially when reunited with childhood friends and was always ready to lend a hand.
His loving and passionate care for others will always be in our hearts.
Charles is survived by his loving children, Pius and Isabelle; parents, Jennie and Dennis; and siblings Edward Bawibik, Henry Thuanaung, Joseph Khualiansang, Noel Ngunhrang, Dolly Lianukthang, and Margaret Maran.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service on Friday, May 23, 2025 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.
Funeral services will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, May 24, 2025 starting at 9:00 am.
Interment will follow the service at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Battle Creek.
