It is with deep sorrow and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Kim Sondey Basham, age 69, of Sun City, Florida. Kim passed peacefully, surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, creativity, and unwavering dedication to those she cared for.
Born and raised in New Jersey on July 2, 1956, Kim carried with her the warmth, strength, and spirit of her roots throughout her life. A devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, Kim touched countless lives with her kind heart and generous soul.
Kim was a nurse for over 40 years, a career she embraced with grace and tireless compassion. She served in nearly every area of nursing and retired as a hospice nurse a role that perfectly reflected her deep empathy and desire to bring comfort to others during their most vulnerable times.
Outside of her work, Kim's passions brought joy to all who knew her. She loved crafting, decorating, and spending magical days at Disney - places and activities that allowed her creativity and inner child to shine.
Kim was preceded in death by her beloved first husband, William Sondey, her parents Jenny and William Corrigan, and two sisters Kathy Allora and Jeanne Gola. She is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Basham, her cherished daughter, Jessica Cramblett, and her dear sisters, Linda Bielski and Patricia Sebastiano. Her family, along with countless friends and former patients, will miss her deeply and remember her always.
The family would be honored to receive flowers but would also ask that you consider contributions in Kim's name to the following Charities: supporting neonatal research and care
Both were causes close to her heart. A Memorial Service will be held at Sun City Center Funeral Home on October 17, 2025 at 1:00 PM.
Kim's life was one of love, service, and light. Though she has left this world, her legacy lives on in every life she touched.
