Sally Holland Kline of Apollo Beach, Florida passed away on October 7, 2025, at LifePath Hospice House Sun City, Florida, from complications due to Alzheimer's.
Sally was born to John and June Holland October 13, 1955, and grew up in Falls View, WV, with her younger siblings, John and Flora.
From a young age, Sally was interested in sports, pets, friends, sports cars, music and marching band, where she played the piccolo and flute (first chair). Her smile and humor were infectious to all she met.
Sally was raised a Mountaineer fan and while attending WVU, went to every game with her best friend and roommate, Paulette Justice. She and Paulette went to school together from the first day of first grade through four years of undergraduate studies at WVU. Sally then attended graduate school at WVU and earned her doctorate in Educational Psychology.
While at WVU, she met many excellent friends.
Sally married Joseph Kline, the love of her life, on her birthday in 1984 in Charleston, WV.
She began teaching psychology at Henderson Community College in Henderson, KY. She often said she used her life experiences when teaching her college students.
Sally and Joe eventually made their home at Wrightsville Beach, NC, with six-month-old baby girl, Emily. Sally and Emily spent many days on the beach playing in the sand, running, exploring, and working together on craft projects. They had family traditions with both the Klines and the Hollands each year for a family gathering at the beach. It was her happy place.
Sally, Joe, and Emily spent ten happy years in Plymouth, MN where Emily attended grade school through high school and where they made many lifelong friends.
Sally had a great sense of humor and was a great cook. She was generous, kind, funny, and loving. She loved to travel, loved music, photography and the theater. She was the most wonderful friend, sister, spouse and mother she could possibly be. She will be dearly missed by family, classmates and friends.
Sally is survived by her loving husband Joseph E. Kline (Apollo Beach, FL) and her beautiful daughter, Emily Kline (Tampa); her brother John Holland (Judy) of Oak Hill, WV; and sister Flora Holland McCarthy (Jim) of Gastonia, NC; Joe's brothers Paul, Mark (Judy), Steve (Gretchen), and sister Jeanette Szelong (David) and many nieces and nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Sally's life will be held at a future date at her beloved Wrightsville Beach, NC.
