Kim Franks Obituary

CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Kim R. (Bob) Franks, 65, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio passed away Friday, April 16th, 2021 due to complications of a recent surgery. Kim was born November 18th, 1955 in Lancaster, PA to the late Gerald and Marguerite Franks. He graduated from East High School in 1974, retired from the City of Akron in 2008 and more recently was employed at The Home Depot. Kim was an elder at Grace Church where he met his wife during a mission's trip in Kentucky. He was also involved with helping the youth and anywhere else he was needed. He loved bowling and had several 300 games. He also enjoyed coaching little league baseball with Joel, was an assistant scout leader, and band parent. Later he became interested in landscaping, creating a peaceful flower garden in their back yard. More recently he took up woodworking, making one-of-a-kind pieces for many family and friends. His sense of humor was known by all and he loved sharing a good joke with anyone who would listen. He loved family vacations, spending time with his friends and making memories that will help us all as we move forward. Left to carry on his legacy are his wife of 43 years, Cheryl; son, Joel; sister, Tian; and many other nieces, nephews, and good friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the youth fund at Canton Grace Brethren Church, 6283 Market Ave. N, Canton, Ohio 44721. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221. Following the calling hours on Thursday there will be a funeral service. Internment will take place at Northlawn Cemetery. Cheryl,
I just read of Kim's homegoing.
I'm so sorry. It's been 39 years but he still had that genuine smile.

Kim was pure pleasure to work with, he always had a smile and kind words for everyone. He will greatly missed here at Home Depot. Thoughts and prayers for his family

Kim always had a smile on his face and a joke either right before that or shortly after. Kim made my time with him at The Home Depot even better and I will always cherish the laughs we had in the aisles. Even though I moved on from the company, people always told me he asked how I was doing. That’s a true friend. Prayers to Cheryl and his family. God Bless.
