Kimberly Sue Ames, age 64 of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Stonebridge Adams Street in Jefferson City.
Kimberly was born May 31, 1960, in Jefferson City, a daughter to the late Arthur and Shirley (Scott) Riegel.
Kimberly was a 1978 graduate of Chamois High School.
On June 27, 1981, she was united in marriage to Terry Ames in Chamois. He preceded her in death on June 15, 2017.
Kimberly was an accounts payable clerk for the Missouri Department of Corrections in Jefferson City.
She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit and she enjoyed attending church, reading, watching cooking shows, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Kimberly is survived by: one son, Nathan Ames (Leslie Skyles) of Loose Creek; one daughter, Heidi Ames (Derek Baker) of Holts Summit; three grandchildren, Nevaeh Ames, Cora Ames, and Hayden Baker; two brothers, Clarence “Ralph” (Debbie) Riegel of Bluffton and Elmer (Deb) Riegel of Montgomery City; a sister-in-law, Debra (James) Fitzpatrick of Springfield; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and many others whom she considered her “bonus children”.
In addition to her spouse and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Russell Riegel and a granddaughter, Isabella Ames.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Fr. Chris Cordes as the Celebrant. Inurnment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit.
