BANGOR- Kimberly Ann DeRaps, 38, passed away on October 28th, 2024, in Bangor, Maine. A beautiful kind-hearted friend, daughter, sister and mother. Kimberly was born May 19th, 1986, in Fort Lewis, Washington, beloved daughter of Brenda (LaMarche) and Scott DeRaps. She was the youngest of four, Jaime (DeRaps) Jackson, Scott DeRaps, and Angela (DeRaps) Bobier.
When Kimberly was three they all moved to Plymouth, Maine, where she lived for the majority of her life. While in school she found much joy in playing field hockey and cheering. She loved the distraction it gave her and the friends she made. She played until she graduated from Nokomis Regional High School class of 2004. Eventually she was able to play both sports again by practicing with and teaching her two daughters, Madison Thew and Jasmine (Jay) Trundy, everything she knew about field hockey and cheering.
Throughout her life she faced many challenges, but no matter how hard life pushed her she pushed back just as hard. Friends and family would always describe her as feisty and courageous. Kimberly was always one to speak her mind and tell you exactly how it was, no beating around the bush. You could always seek support from her with almost anything, she gave the best advice. She was an amazing friend and wonderful mother until the very end. She will forever be missed, and her memory will be carried on in the people's hearts that she helped along the way.
A gathering will be held for her November 16th, 2024, at the Plymouth Grange Hall in Plymouth, Maine at 2pm. In lieu of flowers donations to Together Place in Bangor, Maine where Kimberly found support, friendship and was always accepted.
