Kimberly Ann Schroter, of Ashburn, Virginia, passed away on June 27, 2024.
Kim leaves behind her loving husband, John, and their cherished children, Sarah, Luke, John, and Sam. She is also survived by her father, retired Police Chief Quentin Crowley; her sisters, Barbara and Donna; and her brother, John.
A visitation service will be held at Loudoun Funeral Chapel in Leesburg on Catoctin Street on July 2 from 4-7 PM. The funeral service will follow on July 3rd at St. Theresa's in Ashburn, VA at 10:15AM. Kim will be laid to rest in Ebenezer Cemetery, located at 20421 Airmont Rd, Bluemont, Virginia.
Kim earned her Bachelor's in Accounting from Siena College and her Master's in Education from C.W. Post Though she started her career as an accountant, she discovered her passion as an educator and family manager. Kim made a profound impact as a teacher in school districts across Long Island, New York, and Dover, Massachusetts. She had a remarkable ability to inspire young children, including her own, instilling in them a love for reading from a young age.
Originally from Huntington, Long Island, Kim moved to Massachusetts in 1997. After 18 years, the family relocated to Virginia, where Kim continued to thrive in nurturing her family and supporting her children's aspirations. Known for her infectious joy and warmth, Kim brought laughter to all who knew her. As a family friend once remarked, "Mrs. Schroter is a walking holiday and she lights up the room wherever she goes."
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to their close friends and teammates from the Riverside community, the UVA Lacrosse family, the care team at the Schar Cancer Institute, and the nurses at INOVA Fairfax Hospital and Adler Hospice for their unwavering support.
We miss our Kimmy, with her vibrant spirit and beauty, so very much.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made in Kim's honor to Capital Caring Health. A hospice care organization who took great care of her in her final days. https://capitalcaring.funraise.org/
