Walter loved world travel. His favorite trip took him and Ingeborg around the world on a freighter, passing through both Panama and Suez Canals. Walter and Ingeborg took a 6 month voyage on thier 32' Marine Trader Trawler down the US East Coast Intracoastal Waterway to Florida then Bahamas and back to Delaware.
In his early life Walter was a Hotel Waiter at several of Switzerland's finest Hotels. He immigrated to the US in 1949, spent 2 years in the US Army during Korean War. While working as a waiter in NYC Waldorf Asotoria he met Ingeborg. They bought a small motel in Stroudsburg PA and had two sons. Walter and Ingeborg built the motel into a modern motel adding a pool, housekeeping cottages, beauty shop and overnight rooms. They sold the motel in 1978 after both sons joined the military and moved to Dover De. Upon moving to Dover, Walter became a parishioner of Holy Cross Church, Dover.
