WATERFORD Kimberly Ann Shudt, of River Street, passed away Monday September 15, 2025 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Troy, NY, she was the beloved daughter of Edwin J. Shudt Jr. and Carolyn Savoie Shudt of Waterford, NY. Kim was a 1985 graduate of Waterford-Halfmoon High School and went on to graduate from Bryant & Stratton College.
After graduating, Kim built a successful career in retail management. She most recently served as a store manager at Michaels Craft Stores, where she led teams at locations in Albany, Latham, and most recently Saratoga Springs. Prior to her time at Michaels, she worked at the former Cohoes Fashions and Burlington Coat Factory. Kim had a true passion for retail, and took great pride in her work, consistently driving her stores to top sales rankings, including #1 in her district.
Some of Kim's favorite pastimes included spending time with family, traveling to warm destinations to relax on the beach, and taking trips to the casino with her mother. Family meant everything to Kim. She was deeply devoted to her loving parents, her three siblings, and her many nieces and nephews. In recent years, she especially cherished spending time with her youngest niece and nephews-Thomas, Noah, Isaac, Lily, and Liam-showering them with love and treats.
The greatest joy in Kim's life was her daughter, Jenna, whom she lovingly called her "miracle" and "the most special thing that ever happened to her". From the moment that Kim learned she was expecting, she embraced every part of motherhood with devotion and pride. She always put Jenna first, working hard to ensure she felt happy, supported, and deeply loved. In turn, Jenna was the light of her life. Together, they shared many wonderful experiences, but their vacations were among their most treasured memories. When Jenna was a child, they made yearly trips to Wildwood, NJ, often bringing along Kim's beloved niece, Christina. As adults, they continued their adventures together, traveling to Cancun, the Bahamas, and Las Vegas, among other destinations.
To those who knew her, Kim will be remembered for her selflessness, constantly putting the needs of others before her own. She faced every part of life - even its most challenging moments - with strength, grace, and resilience. Her generosity, strong yet gentle spirit, and unwavering care for others were among her greatest gifts, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her best.
Survivors in addition to her parents include her daughter Jenna Wilkinson (Adam Rossi) of Saratoga Springs, her siblings, Lisa St. John of Waterford, Edwin Shudt III (Dawn) of Brighton IL, Thomas Shudt of Waterford. She is the proud aunt of Brittany (Catherine) and Christina St. John, Maddie and Sam Shudt, Taylor Price, Thomas Shudt II, Noah, Isaac, Lily and Liam. Also surviving are her cherished canine companions, Tony and Tina.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 27, 2025 at 2 pm at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 3), Waterford with a Celebration of Life to follow from 3-6 pm at Van Schaick Island Country Club, 201 Continental Ave, Cohoes.
Family and friends are invited to visit the funeral home on Saturday from 12-2 pm, prior to the memorial service.
