Kip Johnson Obituary

Published by West Funeral Home & Life Tribute Center - West Fargo on Jul. 21, 2016.
Kip J. Johnson, 53, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, July 21, 2016, at his home in Arizona. Kip was born on October 26, 1962 in St. Luke's Hospital, Fargo, to Ronald and Doris (Maul) Johnson. He grew up and attended school in Illinois. Kip moved back to Fargo where he graduated with a GED in 1989. He worked for Held Beef (Federal Beef) until a severe back injury forced him to quit working. Kip was an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle rider and had many friends who were HD enthusiasts. He saw many parts of the US while on his HD Softail making new friends along the way. He looked tough on the outside, but had a heart of gold. His greatest love and proudest accomplishment was his son Chance. He is survived by his father, Ronald; son, Chance; siblings, Keith (Sue), Kevin, Kris (Jill), Kimberly; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; mother, Doris; and brother, Kenneth. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 2 PM with visitation 1 hour prior at the West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.

Even today it still doesn't seem real as tears flow from my saddened heart. Kip, you were one of my first and lasting friends upon my arrival to Phoenix, March 1997. You were sincere, honest, trustworthy, loving and gentle. I will treasure the many memories we shared from riding side-by side to endless camping experiences. I was with you the day Chance was born and I delighted in your Joy with the birth of your son. My husband John wouldn't show up to the hospital until he located cigars for you to pass out. Now you both ride the heavens together. Peace be with you My Friend until I see you again. Meet me in the waiting room......Love Always, j

I haven't any profound words of wisdom, nor can any words convey the sadness I feel. Kip was one of the first people I met coming into the rooms. Dear Kip, rest in peace.

Kip was one of my best friends. This is so difficult for me. I expected him to always be here for me since he has for the last 24 years. He took a part of me with him when he left. I don't think life will ever be the same as I've know it before. I pray Kip you now have the peace you have always wanted and been looking for. I know you will have a place for me when I arrive. Love you forever! BFF Dee
