Kirk D. Stimeling, 62, of Carlisle, passed away on July 6, 2023, at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born November 28, 1960, in Aberdeen, MD to the late Joseph A. Stimeling Sr. and Nancy L. (Mowery) Fahnestock. He was also the stepson of the late Kenneth Fahnestock.
Kirk was a 1980 graduate of Carlisle High School. He previously worked at the Cumberland County Prison as a Correction Officer for nearly 30 years.Kirk was a member of the Carlisle Eagles, the White Circle, Moose Lodge, Sons of Am Vets, Sons of American Legion, Mount Holly Legion, and the VFW. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially during the holidays and when they had picnics. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Kirk is survived by his daughter Nicole Stimeling of Walnut Bottom; two brothers, Joseph (wife Peggy) Stimeling of Carlisle and Jeffrey Fahnestock of Gardners; two sisters, Pamela (husband Leonard) McGuire of Carlisle and Tonya (husband Donald) Schlosser of Mechanicsburg; a brother-in-law, Ronald McGuire of Carlisle; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Vickie McGuire.
The Stimeling family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at The Gardens of Camp Hill, The Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and Hospice of Central Pennsylvania for the excellent care they have provided over the last several months.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA 17013. Friends and family will be invited to a viewing at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:30 AM until service time. Interment will be in Westminster Cemetery.
