Kirsten Renee Schaefer, 54, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away at her home on Monday, July 14, 2025.
She was born on April 25, 1971 in Kansas City, Missouri and the daughter of Walter Joseph and Judith (Horak) Schaefer.
Kirsten was a 1989 graduate of Helias High School. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Central Missouri State University. Over the course of her career with the State of Missouri, she served in multiple departments, most recently at the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, where she worked until her retirement in 2024.
Kirsten had a vibrant love for life. She especially enjoyed time at the lake, jet skiing, boat rides, attending concerts, and watching her nieces and nephews' sporting events. A dedicated sports fan, she loved cheering on her favorite teams-especially the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Chiefs. Above all, she deeply cherished the time spent with her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her parents, Walter and Judith Schaefer; her sister, Karla Werdehausen (Josh); and her beloved nieces and nephews: Braden Werdehausen (Jada), Courtney Werdehausen, Delaney Werdehausen, and Tyson Werdehausen.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Leona Schaefer, and Walter and Edith Horak.
