Passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at the age of 64 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Patricia "Patti" (née Pehowski) for 40 years. Proud and devoted father of Dena. Dear brother of Kostandena (Hercules) Haralagos, Katarina (Michael) Lamia, Effie (Jimmy) Kofinis, Nick (Koula) Dallis and the late Konstantinos (Donna) Dallis. Menios is also loved and will be missed by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends both in the US and Greece. Preceded in death by his parents George and Irene Dallis.
Menios came to America from Athens, Greece at the tender age of 17 in the pursuit of the American Dream, but what he achieved was so much more than that. He married Patti (to him known as "Betty") at the age of 24, opened his crown jewel, Marquette Gyros, in the fall of 1988, and had his one and only child, Dena, a few months later. People who have been graced by his presence have expressed how lucky they were to have met him. Was it luck or was it destined? God puts people in your path for a reason. You met Menios for a reason. Let's face it, it most likely was at your local bar or party. He was truly the life of the party and always invited you to get in on his festivities with him. From Greek Easter's to 4th of July Parties & Anniversaries he always welcomed anyone; he befriended everyone. His long list of friends shows the kind of man he was. A cook by trade, he never let you go hungry & would always bring you one of his dishes (don't forget the oregano, olive oil and feta) even if you didn't ask for it. He wanted to make people happy. His generosity, kindness, joyfulness, laughter (I know you all hear it), and "live like there's no tomorrow" attitude is what we will remember the most. So, you see, his greatest achievement isn't the American Dream at all, but is in the friendships that he made & the legacy of never being forgotten.
There will be a time of gathering on Saturday, September 17, from 10:00 AM - 12:15 PM, at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 380 Bluemound Rd., (Hwy J & JJ), Waukesha. Memorial Service to follow at 12:30 PM.
