Kodi Lynn Goodson-Austin, a fiercely creative soul and beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love and care of her family and friends.

Kodi always marched to the beat of her own drum, unapologetically herself. Full of personality, she was a force in every room she entered. She had an artist's heart and expressed her world through her writing and intricate drawings. Much like her favorite character, Jack Skellington, Kodi saw the world through a lens of wonder, creativity, and compassion for those who didn't quite fit the mold.

She is survived by her daughter, Harley, and Harley's father, Tim; her father and stepmother, Brian and Tracy; her mother, Anita; her sister, Lindsay; and her brother, Josh. She also leaves behind her grandmother, Audrey; two nieces and three nephews; several aunts, uncles and cousins; her best friend, Barbie; her devoted caretaker, Andrew; and her beloved cat, Diamond. Kodi was preceded in death by her Uncle Barry and her maternal grandparents, whose memories she held close to her heart.

In every sketch, every story, and every shared laugh, Kodi's spirit lives on.

As Jack Skellington once said, "Just because I cannot see it, doesn't mean I can't believe it." And though we can no longer see her, we believe in the mark she left on our hearts and the unique imprint she's left in this world.

The family will be holding a small private service to honor Kodi's life and memory. They thank everyone for the love and support during this time.
