Clarence Waters Hale Jr., 87, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025. He was born on February 14, 1938, in Albany, New York to Clarence Waters Hale Sr. and Gertrude Mable (VanPatten) Hale.

Clarence graduated from Guilderland High School and then started his career with the National Guard of Schenectady. Clarence made his career being a mechanic and driving CDL trucks. He was a mechanic for Niskayuna schools for 20 years. In his later years he drove bus for Granville Central Schools, this was his last employment that he just didn't want to give up as he just loved the kids.

Clarence was always known as the go to guy for help. Whether it was fixing a car, a broken pipe, or even towing a mobile home with his pickup truck!! Clarence was always the guy to make you turn your head and think...did I just see what I think I saw? Yes, he was probably the first guy to tow a boat with his motorcycle, but do you remember that he was also towing his camper at the same time!! Clarence was always a MacGyver to the max.

Clarence always loved cooking and was known to be the cook at his motorcycle events with The Roamers of Schenectady, also his family events. Clarence dreamed of riding his motorcycle to Alaska one day.

Clarence married Cheryl Hall in 1960, they had three children together Pamala, Bonnie, and Clarence, and many years later Clarence remarried and had his son Nathan. You could always count on Clarence's sense of humor with his goofy jokes and sayings, Clarence was an old school man with love for God, family, country and friends. Clarence lived most of his life in Ballston Spa, and a few years in Granville.

Clarence is survived by his four children Pamala Banker (Larry), Bonnie Kupek (Donald), Clarence Hale (Connie), and Nate Hale (Jodi), his sister Aurelia Hale (Peter Fabian), grandchildren Jason, Joshua, and Justin Rickson, Sam Kupek, Cassidy, Courtney, Carly, Caden, Jillian and Lily Hale, great grandchildren Kenzie, Atreyu, Alessandra Rickson (and one on the way) Cobe Fisher, and great great granddaughter Violet. He was predeceased by his great granddaughter Katie Fisher.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, October 8 from 4pm to 6pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. A service will be held at 6pm. Clarence will be laid to rest with military honors 2pm Wednesday, October 15 at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Schuylerville.

Clarence & I grew up in Guilderland on what everyone called the back road. As a kid I remember going to his house on Fuller Station road. They had a hand pump in the kitchen. R.I. P. My friend. Jim Bleser
