Mary John Schiller Catone, a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, cherished sister and faithful servant of the Lord, went home to be with her Savior on October 2, 2025, at the young age of 61. After a life fully dedicated to her faith, she passed away peacefully at her home in Ballston Spa, New York.

Mary was born on September 27, 1964, in Ballston Spa, to the late John & Marie Schiller. As a native Ballstonian, Mary embraced the simplicity of living in a small village. In her junior year of high school, Mary made the most important decision of her life: committing her life to Christ and being born again. Mary had a passion for sharing the love of Jesus and would do so with whoever was willing to listen. She would often share her favorite Bible verse, John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

Her love for the Lord translated over to her love for all of God's creatures, humans and animals alike. Before dedicating her life to her favorite calling, being a mother, Mary served others in the healthcare field for several years. She also offered a loving home to multiple pets which she took in from the Saratoga County Animal Shelter. One of her greatest achievements was adopting her precious children. She and her husband, Terry, traveled to Haiti where they gratefully met the birth mother of their oldest child, Daniel Scott Pierre Catone. Two years later, they welcomed their second child, Virginia Mary Serine Lee Catone, also born in Haiti.

After surviving a near-death bout with Covid, Mary rebounded and came back strong, immersing herself in creating crafts and sharing with those she loved. While regaining her strength, cross-stitching became her therapy, both mentally and physically, helping her reclaim the use of her hands.

Mary faced life's many challenges with the testimony of peace that came from her deep trust in God. She was known for her quiet strength, her servant heart and her powerful gift of prayer. Mary's home was always open, a warm and welcoming place where friends and family were met with a loving embrace.

Mary is survived by her loving husband Terry, of almost 30 years; her beautiful children, Daniel and Virginia; her wonderful grandchild, Malcolm Brestar-Catone, to whom she was affectionately known as Mim; her siblings and their spouses, Gretchen and Barry Wescott, Ann and Andrew Crouth, John and Devona Schiller, Jr., Rachel and Brian Martz, Emily and Eli Deso; as well as several nieces and nephews, whom she loved with her whole heart. She was so proud to watch them grow up into the people they are today and genuinely enjoyed spending time with them throughout the years.

Mary's godmother, Aunt Jackie, will continue to cherish her dear Mary, until they meet again in Glory. Mary also leaves behind a long list of Facebook friends and a large church family, where she truly felt loved. She touched so many lives with her thoughtfulness, kindness, and her warm infectious laugh. Life will not be the same without her.

Mary will always be a treasured member of the family and deeply missed by all, including her beloved dog, Yoda, aka the Sidewalk Superintendent.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 10 a.m to 11 a.m., at Armer Funeral Home Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa, NY. A service will be held at 11 a.m., immediately followed by her burial at Ballston Spa Cemetery, Garrett Road, Ballston Spa.
